The city centre of Rotterdam is currently busier than usual, especially on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and at weekends during the day. This is partly due to the work at Hofplein. As a result, travelling by car and parking may take more time. In addition, the Rotterdam City Council is working towards a car-free city centre with fewer cars and more space for pedestrians and cyclists.

We encourage people coming to the city by car to park at a P+R and continue their journey into the city by public transport. To make this easier and more economical, RET, in cooperation with the municipality, offers a P+R combi cicket. This ticket allows you to reserve a parking space and purchase an affordable public transport ticket for your return journey to the city.

How it works

First, download the RET app. Once you've opened the app, tap "Tickets" at the bottom. Under Tickets, select the 'Book P+R' icon.

  1. On the first screen, select the date and time you want to park at the P+R.
  2. Select the P+R lot that has available spaces (these are blue in the app).
  3. Enter your license plate number.
  4. Then, check all the details and indicate how many people will be traveling with you by public transportation. The price will adjust directly to the number of people selected.
  5. After payment, your P+R combo ticket will appear under Tickets.
  6. You can view your reservation under "Tickets & Info."

On the day of your reservation, drive to the P+R lot (you can use the RET app to navigate there (see image 6). Your license plate number will be recognized, so you will never need to press the button at the barrier. Take public transportation to the city and back to the P+R. Get in your car and drive up to the barrier. The barrier will recognize your license plate number and open. Continue your journey home or to your next destination.
