Strippenkaarten

Strippenkaarten may be used anywhere in the Netherlands and they are available with either 2, 3, 8, 15 or 45 strips.

What does a strippenkaart cost?

Refer to the overview of RET travel passes, tickets and fares.

How many strips do I have to ‘stamp’?

For each zone you travel through, you ‘stamp’ one strip.

Count the number of zones through which you want to travel and then add an extra strip. For example, if you travel across 2 zones, then stamp 3 strips (i.e., the third strip on a new strippenkaart or the third strip from the last stamp on a strippenkaart that you’ve already used); or, suppose you want to travel through 3 zones, then stamp 4 strips.

How many zones am I travelling through?

Refer to the zone map.

During your journey, you’ll find zone information on the information boards located at tram- and bus stops and at metro stations.

Where can I buy a strippenkaart?

- In the bus or in the tram, you can buy a strippenkaart with 2, 3 or 8 strips.

- At the pre/advance sales outlets (e.g., newsagents and supermarkets)

Tip! Avoid buying your strippenkaart in the bus or the tram: they are cheaper at pre/advance sales outlets.
